Women and dogs (..I’ll have a dog, please !)

Davide !!! Why don’t you have a girlfriend ?! Davide you should get a Japanese girlfriend !! Davide !! Davide ehhh..
Can I give my opinion ? I don’t give a fuck about having a girlfriend !
Women look in my eyes and understand I don’t care. I can’t pretend that I need her (whomever she is, in time). Life alone is very hard, but life with someone you don’t want is even worse.
Most women are stupid, to the bone. It’s really useless. Why would I need to waste time after a woman that is more intelligent than my robot dog, but also a lot more troublesome ?
I’m not strange, people that put themselves into the hands of a dumb person are.
I want to say this, because I often have to bear comments about not having a girlfriend. The “what’s wrong with you” factor. Maybe I’m a loser, maybe I’m just too good to share my time with someone that has 1/10th of my brain. Am I too full of myself ? Show me a nice looking woman that can even listen to me (let alone understand) without rolling her eyes, and I’ll be happy to take my words back. How can you feel in company, when the woman that is next to you is a retarded compared to you ? If I need to live my life next to a retarded, I’d rather stay with Aibo. At least I have an hope to improve it..

This leads to Aibo, indeed. Yesterday I got video stream from the dog working. The bad news is that it sends JPEG images at a rather slow rate. The highest resolution is 408×318. At that resolution I get 2-3 frames per second. Also the quality is terrible. Images look very dark. JPEG artifacts are there, too. The API allows to change the JPEG quality, but the setting doesn’t seem to work. I must say that it’s all done via wireless network, so it’s understandable that the images are JPEG compressed before being sent, although the data rate is still quite low for an 801.11g network.
In any case I set up a page with live streaming on dpasca.homeip.net. It’s a very early experiment. Image quality is very poor (what I get, without any enhancements). It’s not always on by all means. Especially, the dog normally sleeps from 11PM to 7AM.
There is a lot that can be done and, hopefully, while I don’t have some dumb girlfriend wasting my time, I can develop new things.

    So is a lack of a gf a problem or not for you?

    As a programmer you identify a problem/bug and then invest time in finding a solution.

    Maybe you need to create a definition of the type of women you looking for 1st and then look for ways to meet them?

    But if the woman already doesn’t meet your definition in the 1st place then its obvious that pursuing her is a waste of your time.

    A girlfriend by definition is a stupid concept, I think.
    Friendship is a much truer relationship. The problem is that between a man and a woman there is always this tendency to push the friendship forward, and once two become too close, things get complicated and eventually everything is lost.
    In general, I think that it’s stupid the way two people get together. Without any real solid parameters.. it seems to be all about efforts of stick to someone from day one, rather than a real selection on the actual person.
    Investing time trying to find out who someone is, is a long process. Although, in most cases, one can work by some assumptions, because most girls think alike, and they definitely aren’t trained to use the brain too much (simple thinking). I suppose one still gives it time, but eventually the result is that the girl is dumb !
    It’s the sad truth, it’s how society is.

    I think some relationships start as friendships and then become intimate while others start of with physical intimacy and then cause friendship to develop.

    I think that men and women are fundamentally different by design and its pointless to look for a woman who will think exactly like you or have the same interests.

    What are you using as a criteria, when you say that most girls are dumb?

    Most girls are dumb because that’s all they need to be. It’s especially true for prettier girls, which clearly understand that life is much easier if they let men take care of them.
    I can see how that works. Imagine if we, the males, had constantly a few girls following us like needy dogs. We’d turn out to be rather spoiled, to have an opportunistic view of things.
    Most people, girls first, wish to be smart, but hardly ever wish to be intelligent. Being smart means taking the bright side of life, although at a superficial level. Being intelligent implies a deeper view of things, where carefree happiness doesn’t exist.
    It’s said that ignorance is bliss.. I think that, that synthesizes it well 8)

    I agree with your sentiments. It took me several “attempts” at getting a girlfriend in the past to only realize that the person that I was interested in just wasn’t “on my level” … I don’t think that I’m better than anyone, but it’s a real weight on one’s time/life to always trying to cater to someone that one is not fundamentally not compatible with … Of course, this might be old news to the rest of the planet, but I guess that’s what I get for spending too much time behind the keyboard! 8P

    You can usually get an idea of the compatibility level if your friends with the woman … Though a lot of guys I know think friendship between a man and woman is mutually exclusive! There’s also the “danger” of the woman looking at you soley as a friend and/or using you as an emotional oasis of sorts … In such cases, such a person probably isn’t “girlfriend” material anyway.

    As rince says though, men and women are fundamentally different, so don’t expect any gal to see similarly as you do. My general hope/desire is that she’s open-minded enough to at least appreciate some of the things I appreciate (and I do the same for her) … It’s really just finding a balance.

    The thing I realized for myself is that I’ll keep my eyes open for the kind of lady I’m looking for, but I’m not going to date someone who will more or less be a weight around my neck.

    Mr. Kaz, I think the trick is that if you want to meet “intelligent” women, you have to go to where they’d likely be at … Unfortunately (though it’s not true all the time) many of them don’t hang out often at bars or at clubs … you’ll find plenty of the “other types” of women there.

    But enough of this talk about women/girlfriends … We need more AiboTV!!!
